Bio – Chef Dave
Hello My name is Dave Smith. I began my food career at thirteen washing dishes in a German Delicatessen on Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York. As a teenager and young adult I gained additional experience in pizzerias and delis, ice cream parlors and managing gourmet shops, kitchens and taverns for many years. The various positions I have held throughout my career included working in some of the best restaurants in New York and Connecticut.
I am a classically trained chef – a graduate of Connecticut Culinary Institute. I have been teaching Culinary Classes for more than 10 years. I currently volunteer as Chef Instructor at Food and Friends in Washington DC. I am certified by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. The business is a member in good standing with the American Personal & Private Chef Association. At TheFoodNomad we concentrate on food quality and safety at all times. I am a Servsafe Certified Food Manager. The business is registered with Stafford County and we are fully insured. I have been blogging about life and food for several years now. We can be available for your special event with proper notice.
